Eagle Bluff District Committee

Committee Meetings

The Eagle Bluff District Committee meets every month on the Tuesday preceeding the Eagle Bluff Roundtable, which is the first Thursday of the month.

Location: River Falls American Legion Hall, North Main Street, River Falls, WI (click here for a map).

When: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Activities Committee

Provides District and Council-level events for units to include in their calendars of activities. These events include: Camporees, Klondike Derbies, Expo's, Gold Rush, Pinewood Derby, Scouting for Food, District Recognition Dinner, Council Recognition Dinner, High Adventure Trips, National & World Jamborees.

The Activities Committee includes the following sub-committees:

  • Cub Scout Camping Committee -- Helps Packs bring camping opportunities to their members. This is done by providing information on Cub Camping programs: Polar Cubs, Day Camp, Akela, Webelos Adventure Days, Navajo Camp, weekend council camps. Plus helping packs find approved or get approval for off council camp locations for pack campouts
  • Boy Scout Camping Committee -- Helps Troops and Crews bring camping opportunities to their members. This is done by providing information on Boy Scout and Venturing Camping programs: Tomahawk, Snow Base, weekend council camps. Plus help in off-council camp locations.
  • Order of the Arrow -- Helps Boy Scout members with another way to provide Cheerful Service to Others. Also help in the bringing of the Native American culture to non-Native Americans.

Advancement Committee

Provides unit support in their advancement program. This support is provided through: Webelos Activity Pin Day, Merit Badge Day, Eagle Service Project Approvals, Eagle Board of Review, Special Award Recognitions, District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver Award.

Commissioner Staff

Provides direct service to units through the unit commissioner staff and supports regular meetings of district scouters by organizing the monthly Roundtables.

Finance Committee

Helps units provide ways to finance their programs (Trails End Popcorn Sales) and provides leadership in the council's annual fundraising programs (Friends of Scouting).

Growth Committee

Helps all units in their yearly and monthly new member recruitment. This is done through the training and providing of materials for Join Scouting Night, Troop Open House, and Venturing First Nighters.

Publicity Committee

Helps units promote themselves to the public and other Scouting activities that the public may be interested in learning about. Also coordinates the district web site.

Volunteer Resources Committee

Provides help to units as needed to secure volunteer leaders when units need additional help beyond their chartered partner's help. Works with the District Committee to fill open district level positions.
