 About Eagle Bluff

The District serves the 50-or-so Scouting units in Hudson, Roberts, Hammond, Baldwin, Woodville, Glenwood City, River Falls, Plum City, Prescott, Ellsworth, Spring Valley, Elmwood, St. Joseph, and Wilson, WI, and Hastings, MN.

We put on 3 annual outdoor events, a district Pinewood Derby, and monthly roundtables.

The district was formed in 2000 from the former La Croix district and Dakota district of the Indianhead Council. In July, 2005, Viking Council (headquarters in Minneapolis) merged with Indianhead Council (headquartered in St. Paul) to form the Northern Star Council.

About the Web Site

This site strives to provide up-to-date information about Eagle Bluff activities: what's about to happen and what's happened in the recent past.

In general, pages and URLs will remain constant while the page contents themselves change. This is true of everything in the top level directory and the 'knots' directory.

Individual pages tied to a particular year's activities are only kept for a couple of years. These include the detailed training schedules and everything related to a specific district event, like a particular year's Camporee (i.e. the fliers, leader's guides, and event photos). These postings go into annual directories keyed to the scouting year (fall to fall).

About the Photographs

Photos on the Eagle Bluff site are contributed by Eagle Bluff volunteers and are posted here because we believe they are newsworthy in that they illustrate the activities of our youth members and adult volunteers.

If anyone has concerns about a posted photograph we will remove it.

To protect the privacy of participants in Eagle Bluff activities, we will limit identifying information to first names, or last names, or initials, unless we receive specific permission to publish additional information.

For information on other site privacy policies, click here for the Indianhead Council web site privacy statement.

About PDF Files

Many sites publish forms and documents on the Web using Adobe's PDF (Portable Document Format). Adobe will provide you with a free copy of their Acrobat Reader program to allow you to read and print copies of such documents. The Acrobat Reader can run on all major personal computer systems.

PDF format allows us to distribute files produced by almost any application program without insisting that everyone go out and buy their own copies of Microsoft Word, Quark Express, or something else.

Sites publish document using PDF instead of conventional Web pages because it reproduces documents more consistently than Web browser programs like Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. PDF is so reliable and consistent that the IRS uses it to distribute income tax forms. PDF is also widely used in the publishing industry to control the printing of books. Another benefit is that sophisticated documents generally take up less space when formatted using PDF.
